Nordic Biosafety Forum is an internet based forum for discussions concerning biosafety and biosecurity. This Forum offers an opportunity for Biosafety professionals to find colleagues with similar interests or expert knowledge. The Nordic Biosafety Forum is run by the Nordic Biosafety Network and access is given after joining the Network, which is free of charge. To join the Nordic Biosafety Network, please send your contact information to: nordicbiosafety@folkhalsomyndigheten.se

Members of the Nordic Biosafety Network can register as a new member at the forum homepage. After your membership has been activated by the administrators you are welcome to take part in the various discussion groups. Use the forum to find partners for new co-operations, to find members with certain expertise, to the sharing of best practices with regards to technology and techniques relevant to biosafety, simply to discuss all aspects of how to manage biological risks.

2011- The year of Building International Biosafety Communities. This initiative by the International Federation of Biosafety Association (IFBA) in partnership with the Elizabeth R. Griffin Foundation raised the importance of strengthen local biosafety networks. The Nordic Biosafety Forum is an attempt to strengthen our Nordic Biosafety Network, by keeping the discussions ongoing between our annual meetings.

The Nordic Biosafety Forum is for members of the Nordic Biosafety Network and its content is the expression of the individual members' own opinions.

Use of the forum constitutes acceptance and agreement to the Forum Code of Conduct:
      • Posts that disclose classified information should be avoided. Nordic Biosafety Forum is provided by the Public Health Agency of Sweden (Folkhälsomyndigheten), a government agency, which means that posts on the forum is formally public documents. If a third party is requesting these documents, Folkhälsomyndigheten must examine whether there is any confidentiality that prevents disclosure. If such confidentiality is missing, these documents must be disclosed.
      • English is the official language of the forum because it is the common language between our moderators and users.
      • To facilitate identification, it is recommended that you choose a username that resembles your real name.
      • Do not use the forum for commercial interests.
      • Ensure the privacy of the forum members and that of others.
      • Encourage the freedom of expression and exchange of information in a lawful and responsible manner.
